MK Care Champion
mk2mk is passionate about caring for MKs and their families. Our hope is to be able to create a global spiritual community of MKs who impact their world for Christ. mk2mk is a team of 15 staff devoted to caring for MKs all around the world, both in Cru and outside of Cru. We hope to provide care for a wide range of MKs with many different backgrounds and nationalities. We have a limited scope, however, and would like to partner with individuals who are passionate about serving MKs and TCKs in their area and are able to reach MKs whom our team may not be able to reach otherwise. To do this, we are hoping to partner with MK Care Champions.
What is an MK Care Champion?
MK Care Champions are individuals with a heart for serving MKs and promoting MK care. MK Care Champions contribute their time, connections, and experiences. This role is open to anyone from any organization with a heart for MK care and helping MK families thrive. The commitment would be variable, depending on the availability and interests of the individual and the needs of the community. If this person is within Cru, this role could make up a portion of their ministry assignment.
MK Care Champions will have the option of being coached by one of the mk2mk staff through biweekly or monthly calls. In these calls, Care Champions can discuss different needs, ideas, and plans with input and support from the mk2mk team. The Care Champion Coach will also be able to provide any mk2mk materials that might be needed or helpful to the MK Care Champion.
Examples of what an MK Care Champion could do:
-Lead a book club focused on MK/TCK education for parents of MKs in the area.
-Speak to MK families once a month during team meetings about an MK care topic.
-Lead/coordinate virtual small groups for mks/tcks in the area in their first language.
-Communicate about MK care needs in their area with the mk2mk team.
-Partner with mk2mk on international trips.
-Lead an MK group at the international school that focuses on educating about different MK/TCK topics once a month.
